Application

Biomass CHP's (BCHP's) technology operates at factory or community scale. A typical customer will ideally be a factory owner or a community development needing power and heat, at lower cost than from the grid, and working with wood or close to a suitable supply of wood. Typical units will be sized in the 200kWe to 300kWe output range with the same level of heat production, although larger plants can be built utilising multiple gasifiers and larger engine/generator sets.

BCHP's high efficiency gasifier and gas cleaning system produces gas that is sufficiently clean to facilitate continuous operation of a high efficiency gas engine driving a generator. Heat from the process is used to dry the wood and to pass out to other applications such as space heating. There is no liquid effluent and the exhaust gas meets UK Clean Air Act requirements.
